Today June 1st marks the official start to the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season! Usually this starting date passes by with little consideration from the public, except for the occasional news story about total storms forecast. However this year is slightly different. This year we have already seen two systems in the Atlantic before the season even started! We have already seen Tropical Storms Alberto and Beryl in the end of May. This is an unusually active start to the tropical season but does not by any means signify a more active season. With that said it is always important to stay informed especially when storms like Alberto and Beryl form so close to land (just of the southeast coast!).
